Hey there beautiful friend!
This week has been a really tough week.
I know that we all have them but for some reason, this one was hard just to bounce back from. There were a lot of tears shed and some crankiness but it’s Friday and we’ve all made it through the week. I did a lot of “faking it until I made it” and I think that’s ok.
I took some time and dug deeply into my emotions and what was happening. After my first breakdown of the week, I used my favorite notepad for when I’m in a funk. It really helps me think through what’s going on. I haven’t had the chance to fully process the weight of this year and everything that’s happened with me health-wise. Would I change anything? Absolutely not… maybe just added some therapy in around the time of the mastectomy.
My middle daughter Aurora came in on Wednesday and was like “Mommy, I started journaling again.” She’s such a sweet child. So I asked her if it would be ok if I joined her for journaling. Quality time is her love language so she was excited about that. I’ve decided it’s time for me to rebuild my vision and manifestation board and I started by allowing myself to dream in this journal that asks some really good questions.
Then Julian and I had really great conversation before I finally tried this really cool pillow that helped me get some great sleep last night. Now it’s Friday, I’ve cried a river, slept and feel renewed. But that doesn’t mean I still don’t have some work to do mentally and emotionally—i just feel better equipped to do it.
Atlanta Frocktails
Last weekend was Atlanta Frocktails and it was a good time! I ended up wearing a Lola dress made out of sheer, embroidered mesh and it was perfect. I was comfy and happy to see my friends. It was a beautiful venue BUT it wasn’t ADA compatible! The caterer, who is disabled, had to call the fire department to get out the building. That’s a huge no-no in my opinion. They got it handled but I would have been so so so upset!
This week I hacked a couple of patterns to make a fall wedding guest dress. I’m not going to lie… It feels really modest for my taste but we’ll see how it all looks together once I’m dressed. I did it on YouTube live so make sure you’re subscribed and turn on notifications for when I go live over there!
And don’t forget to listed to this week’s podcast!
Alright friends… That’s it for me this week. I’ve got to get ready to teach projector sewing adjustments tomorrow—join me if you want to get in on the know!
xoxo
