Hey Friends!
I bet you thought I forgot about you, huh?
I didn’t!
February has been a bit of a cluster—- between prepping for Atlanta Frocktails, Sew Expo, and starting to teach locally. Oh, and of course the things that aren’t sewing related like finishing my oldest’s high school applications (how am I about to have a kid in highschool?!?!?), navigating middle school with my middle babe, my youngest being, well, the youngest and trying not to have a mid-life break down while juggling it all.
My mantra during this time has been: I just have to make it to March.
Seriously, lol. So let’s do some updates, shall we?
Atlanta Frocktails Is Ready For You!
Planning Atlanta Frocktails has been a whirlwind of fun wrapped in stress. I love the theme of the Secret Garden. It was one of my favorite movies as a kid so using it as a theme is personal. But I also hope that it gives light and inspiration to others as they prepare for the party. I hope you know this…. but you’re invited too!!! I would absolutely love to have the people who are on my mailing list show up and hang out with me!
We’ve built out a playlist and Pinterest board to give the makers something to be inspired by. I want to wear embroidered tulle (with or without something underneath it 😉) because I just looooove that look it gives. Make sure you grab your tickets if you haven’t already!
SewExpo Is Next Week!!!!
And I’m teaching 10 classes. As I was nervously looking at the schedule, my husband looks at me and goes, “Why did you send in so many pitches?” Which of course is an excellent question… I honestly didn’t think they would all be selected and I wanted to be safe than sorry so I just pitched things I would have fun with. And I guess I made them all sound pretty fun so here I am, teaching all the classes LOL!!!
I had so much fun last year so I’m really looking forward to it.
I Made A Bog Coat!!!
If you’re like, what’s that? It’s a zero (really low) waste jacket that has 2 seams. It’s an oversized situation that doesn’t have a lot of shape but makes you feel high fashion and I love it!!!
After fumbling through this, I learned a lot about how to make them so I’ll be sharing a formula I created to my paid subbies next time.
Have you been listening to The AudaSEWtea????
Julian and I dug REALLY deep in the month of February and got personal. If you’ve missed out on any of them, make sure that you give us a listen on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon, YouTube, etc.
On a personal note, this has been a really overwhelming time for me and my newsletter is something that I love so thank you for being here!
