Happy New Year Boo!!!

Yes, friend, I’m still wishing people a happy new year. I like to wish people a happy new year until February in truth because sometimes it takes that long to get ourselves together.

2024 In Review

Last year started out great for me! I was excited, I had just completed all the surgeries for my double mastectomy. I felt inspired and ready. But by the end of last year, I was READY for the year to be over.

After the summer, it was suuuuper hard to get my footing back when I had to have 4 more surgeries! But I did and I loved the things that I did last year.

We kicked off the #PinterestInspirationClosetManifestation challenge and I loved all that we did there. I also did a 7-day style challenge that has led to me getting ready to offer styling services. I taught more and my confidence grew so much. So even though it was a lot by the end of the year, it wasn’t all bad news bears.

2025 Goals

I would be full of malarky if I said that I had narrowed down all my goals for 2025 because I haven’t. There are a couple of sewing and business related goals that I KNOW I want to be doing so here those are:

• Teach more: I fell in love with teaching last year. I want to do so much more this year, so I’ve launched a virtual series. The first class is on Saturday, January 25 @ 10am EST. All of my classes will be recorded and emailed to registrants. The first class is on how to take your measurements properly and what adjustments those measurements lend to. Here’s the link to register for that class:

• Design More: I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but the plus sizes are really dwindling with the commercial patterns. It’s almost like being fat is now out of style so they’ve decided not to offer our patterns anymore. So I’m refocusing on my indie patterns with Made for Mermaids. My first pattern of the year goes into pre-testing tomorrow and I’m sooooo excited about it.

• Continue to grow on YouTube: Last year I hit 10K subscribers and I’m beyond geeked. I never thought that long form video content was for me but I sincerely love it. I would love to hear topics you all would like more content on! I’ll be having my 10K Q & A live coming up next week so be sure to submit some questions to me mmmmmkay?

• Be more active here: Listen… with the wool being pulled over our eyes with the TikTok ban debacle and whatever is happening with Meta, I’m pulling back being as active there. Yes, I will still be creating content there but not like I was before. I’m going to finish my rebrand for my website, create more here and have more fun without thinking on whether the algorithms will work in my favor.

Anyways… this email is long enough and I don’t want you all to hate me on our first email of the year.
